Amsterdam couples massage on a working trip

One of you is in Amsterdam because a company is paying for it. The other is here because the flights were being bought anyway and three free days in this city are worth having. Between those two facts sits an evening, usually one per trip, and this page is about arranging it before the week eats it.

What a working trip does to an evening

A holiday has evenings to spare. A working trip has one, maybe two, and they are the leftovers of a schedule neither of you controls. Monday goes to arrival and a dinner someone else organised. Tuesday and Wednesday belong to the programme. Thursday is the one with nothing printed against it, and Friday depends on whether the flight home is morning or afternoon. That is why couples who book here tend to write early in the week rather than on the night: not because they are organised people, but because by Thursday afternoon the free evening has usually acquired somebody else's plans. Fixing it on Monday is how it stays yours.

The two arrangements, and which one a weekday carries

There are two ways to arrange a room with both of you in it, and they are genuinely different evenings. One therapist between you is 360 euros an hour. She works with one of you at a time and the other stays close, and the hour runs at a conversational pace with nothing happening in parallel. A therapist each is 720 euros an hour, and the two sessions run side by side, which compresses the same amount of evening into half the elapsed time. On a weekday with an alarm at the end of it, the second arrangement is often the practical one. On the free evening of the week, the first tends to be what couples ask for.

Fixing the date before the week fixes it for you

Give a date the moment you have one you half believe in. Dates here are not locked in blood: one change is free, provided it is asked for more than twenty-four hours before the booked hour and the new date falls inside a fortnight. That covers almost every genuine agenda change, including the client who moves a review from Wednesday to Thursday and the dinner that materialises on Tuesday morning. What the free move does not cover is a second change, or a change asked for on the day, and those are read on the notice scale exactly as a cancellation sent at the same moment would be. The practical consequence is simple: book early and move once if you must.

The hour, when one agenda is still moving

Give an hour in Amsterdam time, and if the working half of the trip cannot promise it, give a window instead. A message that says half past eight, with anything from eight to nine workable, is easier to answer than a precise time that turns out to be wrong. Sessions overrun, a chairman talks past the break, a taxi from the exhibition halls takes longer than the map says. None of that is unusual and none of it is a problem while it is in the thread before she sets out. What causes trouble is silence: an hour agreed at noon and quietly abandoned at seven.

Length measured against tomorrow rather than tonight

Sixty minutes is a real booking and suits the evening before an early start. Ninety is what most couples take on a normal weekday, and it is the length that stops the hour feeling like an appointment. Two hours belongs to an evening with a slow morning behind it, and three to the added weekend. The honest way to choose is to decide what time the working partner has to be conscious, subtract eight hours, subtract the length of the booking, and see whether the answer is an hour you can plausibly start at. If it is nine at night and the number comes out at half past eight, take sixty minutes and stop arguing with the arithmetic.

The figures for two people in one room

Two of you sharing one therapist is 360 euros an hour, 540 for ninety minutes, 720 for two hours, 1,080 for three and 2,500 for the eight hour block. A therapist each is 720 an hour, 1,440 for two hours and 5,760 for the block. One guest alone with one therapist is 180 an hour, in case the week produces an afternoon where only one of you is free. Nothing is added for an evening, a Saturday or a journey anywhere inside the ring, and every figure on this site is a euro figure. The same table repeats on every page of the roster, because the tariff does not change from one name to the next.

Half ahead, and what that half is

Half the fee confirms a booking made more than twenty-four hours ahead, which is nearly every booking a couple on a working trip makes. It is not a security deposit put aside and returned; it is the first half of the fee itself, named in writing once the hour is agreed and settled before she travels. Ninety minutes for two sharing one therapist is 540, so 270 goes ahead and 270 is settled on arrival. Two hours with a therapist each comes to 1,440, which puts 720 ahead. Card first, with Revolut, Wise or cryptocurrency for anyone who prefers them, and the details appear inside the confirmed thread and nowhere else.

Where you are staying, and what the building expects

Say the district and the building in the first message and add the room number when you have it. Some buildings in the centre ask visitors to be announced or met downstairs, and knowing that in advance turns a five minute problem into no problem at all. The arrival window is forty to sixty minutes from the moment the booking is agreed, the same figure in Centrum, the Jordaan, Oud-Zuid, De Pijp and out towards the Zuidas. A room at a Schiphol airport hotel sits outside that window and is arranged on its own terms, with the length of the journey settled in writing before the hour is fixed.

Writing the message between the two of you

Agree the evening between yourselves before anything is written, because a booking for a room with two people in it needs both of them to want it. Then let one of you hold the thread, ideally whichever of you is not in sessions all day. Put the date, the hour, the address, the length and whether you want one therapist or two into a single message, and the reply comes back with a name, a figure and an arrival window. The booking page sets out the order the messages run in, the questions page answers what usually comes next, and the page on early meetings is the one to read if tomorrow starts at eight.
